In today's society, being yourself can be very hard, especially if you are insecure or scared of being judged. You might think that it's okay to lie about your personality to try and "fit in", but honestly if people can't like you for who you really are, you shouldn't be talking to them or calling them your "friends". People should like you for your "true colors". Additionally, I feel that if you tell the truth from the beginning, the people that you would've had to tell the lie to would be more mad that you lied than be upset from your real personality.
John Legend's video, entitled "True Colors", isn't of him talking but it does have a strong meaning. He's playing the piano while singing with his soulful voice. He tells us that we shouldn't be scared with all the people around and that we should just be ourselves. We shouldn't be unhappy because we are all "beautiful, like a rainbow". When he says we are like rainbows, it's not just the outside, it's also the inside. I think this is a lesson for everyone, adults, teens and kids. It's like how parents always tell us not to lie, and when we do and they find out, we regret it. This is like the same concept, if we lie about who we are, we'll regret that we jeopardized a friendship/relationship.
Thanks guys and I hope you come back for more! Sorry this was short, but the video wasn't really that long.
